Winner '2011 Golden Plate Award'

The team at The Lydiard Wine Bar were thrilled to have been the overall winner of the '2011 Golden Plate Award' for the Ballarat and Daylesford region.

The Golden Plate Award is a brilliant acknowledgement for the wine bar, competing against so many other fantastic restaurants from the Ballarat and Daylesford area. In addition to  winning the major award of the '2011 Golden Plate' we were also thrilled to have won  'Best Restaurant- Relaxed Contemporary Dining', 'Best Menu of Local Wine' and Damien bringing home the award for 'Best Chef.' We were also excited to be finalists for the catergories of 'Best Coffee', 'Best Front of House Person- Jacklyn Watts' and 'Best Value for Money Restaurant.'

The award is fantastic recognition from an extensive judging process that involves two independent media based reviewers visiting each restaurant in the region on two occasions for the judging process to take place. The team at Golden Plate Awards is lead by Rita Erlich, former Editor of 'The Age Good Food Guide' who was recently recognised as an "industry legend" at the 2010 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.
